Thank you for considering Mark Downey & Associates! We have been in business locally for almost 30 years, which makes Mark Downey & Associates, Inc, the longest-running boutique real estate firm in the Greater Pensacola area.
While many firms have come and gone, MD&A has successfully navigated the ups and downs of the most extreme real estate markets in modern day history. In fact, at the bottom of the market collapse in 2009 & 2010, we were able to buy three real estate companies that had previously been in business since the early 1960s. While others were folding up shop and giving up, we continued to forge ahead! I credit the good Lord and His blessings on my life for much of my company's success, but also those who worked alongside me, working well into the nights to ensure we continued to outpace all others and provide the best service possible!
Unlike most larger real estate firms, we hire slow and methodically; considering integrity, attentiveness, and compassion OVER fast talking or sales ability. I want agents and staff members who CARE about guiding our clients, rather than pushing them into something they may not necessarily need or be financially prepared to endeavor into. That's why we also offer rental homes as well as sales. We can help a buyer make the right decision (for them) about buying or leasing; or help a potential seller make a tough decision regarding selling their home, or leasing it out for a few years until it's a better time to sell.

My name is Mark Downey, and I am a third generation Pensacolian; having lived in Southwest Pensacola for nearly fifty years. Now with my own three children, we have four generations who call Pensacola home! Two of my three children (25 & 22 yrs old) work for my company, just as my mother does, having worked for me for the last nearly twenty-five years.
Both my parents were hard-working public servants who chose to help others over any desire to earn a high wage. My father served twenty-six years in the US Air Force (Vietnam Vet) and then later, after graduating at the age of forty-four with a bachelor's degree (UWF), served as the Director of the Salvation Army and later the YMCA. My mother was a nurse who later became the office manager for a chiropractor; later serving in our church in ministry prior to coming to work for my firm. I immensely respected their strong work ethic and sense of duty to serve others, but knew there had to be a better way to uphold these values while making a comfortable living. Simply put: I wanted it all!
Upon graduating from UWF with a degree in Pre-Law, I married and began working towards obtaining a Broker's License in Florida and Alabama. I then opened my own firm and my dream of owning a business was realized! While I did not have the resources (financially) that many had in becoming an entrepreneur, I simply out-worked my competition! I promptly became a top-five broker in the Greater Pensacola area (out of thousands of agents), and my firm won several 'reader' awards, winning "Best of the Bay" 11 years in a row (Best Realtor, Best Real Estate Firm, Best Property Management Company). I credit my parents for all that I have achieved.
